Balázs Bodó
senior researcher

Bodó, Balázs, PhD (1975), economist, socio-legal researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam. He was a Fulbright Visiting Researcher at Stanford University’s Center for Internet and Society in 2006/7 and at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard University in 2012. Since 2013 he is based in Amsterdam, working as a senior researcher at the Institute for Information Law (IViR) at the University of Amsterdam. Using a 1.5M EUR ERC STG grant he founded the Blockchain&Society Policy Research Lab in 2018. The Lab studies the social, economic, political conditions that produce distributed technologies, and the accompanied beliefs that decentralization will solve humanity from itself in order to inform law and policy about the upcoming challenges to its authority.
