
Katharina Finke (*1985) is a German journalist and non-fiction author who is covering stories around the world. So far she reported from Australia, Bangladesh, Canada, China, Germany, India, Israel, Netherlands, New Zealand, Portugal and the United States. Her work concentrates on culture, environment and society with a focus on gender and human rights issues. Finke works freelance for print and online media (Spiegel, taz, die Zeit) as well as for television broadcasters (ARD, Arte, BR, NDR, WDR, ORF, ProSiebenSat1, SF, ZDF, 3sat) as an author, editor, stringer and video producer. She also works as a moderator.
Her first non-fiction book "Mit dem Herzen einer Tigerin" was published by HEYNE/Random House in 2015. Therein Finke is telling the true story of an Indian women who is not giving up even though she is facing severe violence. “LOSLASSEN - Wie ich die Welt entdeckte und verzichten lernte” is a travel-book about Finke’s minimalistic lifestyle and her experiences with it all over the world. It was published March 2017 by PIPER/MALIK.
Since 2018 she is also working for netzwerk recherche.
